Local Mental Health Authorities (LMHA)

Texas Health and Human Services contracts with 37 local mental health authorities to help connect individuals to affordable mental health services in communities across Texas. LMHAs provide services to specific areas. If you already know your county’s LMHA, you can find its contact information below. The LMHA’s referral line provides confidential help 24/7. HHSC requires each LMHA to evaluate the mental health needs of communities in their area and plan, develop policy, coordinate services and use resources to address those needs.
